Two background speed painting practice

Something about the background I draw just seem weird

They look too cartoony and childish. I must be missing some important element to make them look so cartoon like even though I don't intend to.

Something about it feels weird. I feel that the body can be painted much better, but I can't really think of a way to improve it

I learned a lot from his video tutorial!

I decided to try out his techique, it works quite well.

Product of randomness

I am trying to produce art that is appeal to game industry, but I have no idea what to do...

I ended up just doodle some concept of random character today

Trying out new techique

I was watching Carlos Cabrera's tutorial video and was very impressed with his techique!

I did this to try out his techique. (I made the composition very similiar to one of his painting so I can study his style)

Here is the result
